Day 3 - written on 9/6/2011

Day 3: It's really hard to imagine that we have only been here for 3 days, it seems like so much longer. My mind is spinning with all that needs to be done. I just had to share todays activities.

We left the Mac at 9:00am to do some fabric shopping, get prices on having 2 couches, 4 chairs, approx. 25 cushions and at least 10 window treatments made, and this is only for one room! We had a car and driver for the day and it was myself, Kristina, Huang Shan and Bob. One of these names just doesn't belong for a long shopping day -- Bob! Traffic was bad so we spent maybe an hour getting to the first stop and spent at least an hour looking at fabrics and talking prices. Bob got bored and went out looking for ANYTHING else to look at. He did find a Starbucks so that was a hit. We then went to the neatest place, George's lamps. It took a while to find it, a long, long, long while but what a great stop. George was a real artist and it was really interesting, even to Bob. Next stop - IKEA and that was an experience. It took us 2 1/2 hours (including a little lunch) to get thru the place. By this time Bob was wishing he hadn't come. I think he wished that a long time before. The highlight in IKEA was seeing all the people sleeping on the beds there in the display area. For real, sleeping, curled up in the bedding! I think Bob wished he was one of them. Last stop - another fabric shop, in a mall! We were there a good hour or more and were so laden down with fabric books, we could hardly hail a cab. We got back to the Mac about 6:30 with Bob still in tow. Tomorrow he thinks he'll rake dirt. He thinks he could be happy doing that for 9 1/2 hours. I wonder what day 4 will bring?
